For purposes of this document:
Challenge Team – any group of 5 runners officially entering the Silicon Laboratories Austin Marathon Relay, any gender or nationality.

1. A competing Challenge Team must consist of 5 individual runners who must register for The Event by 5pm EST, September 11st, 2008 and identify themselves specifically as entrants into the $100,000 Porsche Sub 2 Challenge.
2. The first Challenge Team to complete the 2008 Silicon Labs Austin Marathon Relay in less than 2 hours of elapsed time from start to finish while adhering to the Rules of the Challenge shall be eligible to win the Sub 2 Challenge and the $100,000 prize, subject to conditions (following the official rules). Only one Challenge Team can win the $100,000 prize.
3. Challenge Team members must be at least 18 years of age as of September 1st, 2008. Race Officials may require proof of age.
4. A Challenge Runner may not complete more than one leg for a Challenge Team. Members shall execute a hand-to-hand exchange of the official wrist band when transitioning runners between legs 1 and 2, 2 and 3, 3 and 4, and 4 and 5. Exchanges must take place within the official exchange zone.
5. Challenge Team leg 1 runners must start at the official start of the Relay, at the same time as the leg 1 group of runners. Challenge Team leg one runners will be provided a position in the front row at the starting line and will have the support of a lead bicycle if they arrive at least 30 minutes prior to the start of the Event. The Event will not be delayed to wait the arrival of a Challenge Team or Challenge Runner.
6. All Challenge Runners will be electronically timed with a device provided by Race Officials.
7. Challenge Team members may wear uniforms of their own choosing, but members will be required to wear a race bib as assigned by Race Officials.
8. Any Challenge Team member using any means of assisted motion of any kind at any time during the running of their leg of the race shall be disqualified along with their team (no taxi rides, please).
9. Challenge Team members must follow the course and their individual relay legs as mapped, and Challenge runners will be individually monitored by volunteers and cameras accordingly throughout the race. Any variation off the certified course by any Challenge Team member at any time for any reason may result in disqualification of the entire team (no shortcuts please).
10. Challenge Team runners shall sign and acknowledge that they have read, understand, and agree to accept, follow, and adhere to this Set of Rules. Any violation of any rule set forth herein will disqualify the Challenge Team Sub 2 Challenge and the $100,000 prize
11. The Task Team of the Silicon Labs Austin Marathon Relay, with the collaboration and support of the City of Austin, the Austin Police Department, and the Austin Parks and Recreation Department, seeks to provide a safe and accurate course for the Event. The course as certified and as it exists on race day shall be accepted and agreed to by all Challenge Runners as being exactly 26.2 miles in total length and shall not be subject to question or dispute. . The length, layout, distance, marking, safety, access, surface, quality, or any other element of the course shall be accepted as is on race day and shall not be subject to question or dispute.
12. Should two teams post identical times in the official results provided by RunFar Racing, the winning team will be that team with the earliest day and time of registering for the Relay (register early, win the tie).
13. Challenge Teams will be subject to stop watch timing which will only be referenced in case of failure of the electronic system. A primary and secondary watch shall be assigned to each Challenge Team. In case of failure of the electronic system, official stopwatch time will be final, with first reference to the primary watch followed by the secondary watch for back up.
14. All Challenge runners shall sign and agree to the following:
a. Challenge Runners shall at 4pm the evening of Saturday, September 20th, attend a Challenge Team briefing and guided tour of the Relay course so that each Challenge Runner knows their own leg routes, turns, the start, finish, and exchange zone, and the full course. Failure to attend the pre-race briefing will preclude any Challenge Team from challenging the results of the Event
b. Challenge Runners accept responsibility for knowing each of their individual legs and for staying on course
c. Challenge Runners agree that if they violate any of the rules of the Challenge, including not staying correctly on the course as certified for their leg, their team will be disqualified
d. A Challenge Team that completes the race in less than two hours and wins the Challenge shall make themselves available immediately following the race to screening for performance enhancing drug use (no doping, please).
15. Challenge runners acknowledge their full understanding of these rules, and agree to adhere to the rules and to accept any ruling on the Challenge from either the insurer or the Challenge Panel.
16. If the Challenge Panel or the insurer of the Challenge determines that the conditions set forth set forth herein have not been met or that the Challenge rules have been violated or have not been correctly followed by a Challenge Team or a Challenge Member for any reason, or that no team has finished the race in less than two hours, the $100,000 prize shall not be awarded. The ruling of the Challenge Panel or insurer will be final
